Frequently asked questions

Which databases are supported?
PostgreSQL and MySQL are supported at launch with more to come.
Which AI providers can I use?
You can use OpenAI or Anthropic with your own API key. Provider usage is billed separately by your chosen provider.
What gets sent to the AI provider?
The structural schema, your question, and limited result context needed to answer may be sent. Your database credentials are never included.
Can Chatable edit data?
Yes. You can edit rows and review generated writes before confirming them.
Which platforms are supported?
The first release of Chatable is for macOS.
What does my license include?
Your purchase includes a perpetual Chatable license for your use on up to two machines you own, plus one year of product updates from launch. You can transfer the license to another machine you own as long as it is not active on more than two machines at once.
What happens if Chatable does not launch?
If Chatable does not launch for any reason, you will receive a full refund of the amount you paid. Read the pre-order terms.
When does Chatable launch?
Chatable is expected to launch in August 2026. The first 100 customers pay $49; the normal price is $99.
